Short Story New Zealand

New Zealand is a dream destination for married couples on honeymoon. There are a lot to see around the year and a multitude to experience. New Zealand – that is pure outdoor!

No matter whether you want to enjoy the deep green of the mountains or relax in the warm Pacific in summer or indulge in the amply colourfulness of the fall or the fresh and crystal clear winter sky. The summers are warm with about 25 – 29 degrees Celsius. The winters are mild with about 5 to 15 degrees Celsius. The North Island is generally warmer then the South Island. While the North Island is the destination for surfing the South Island is rather know for snowboarding and skiing possibilities.

New Zealand offers you spectacular things: fascinating and unique forests, far- off beaches and unbelievable visibility from the alpine altitude. The lakes and fjords of the South Island belong, including some of the most breathtaking spots on earth that you will ever see, is quasi a must.

Speaking of breathtaking – Could you take a fancy for a flight in a helicopter above a glacier of the South Island, also in combination with a crossing of a glacier or ice climbing? Or could you take pleasure in the thrill of a jet boat ride on one of the numerous rivers and lakes that the country offers you? Most popular are as well river rafting and black water rafting (cave rafting) or bungee jumping from bridges. Who on the other hand rather looks for solitude relishes canoe- and kayak rides on outlying lakes and fjords. In many places ship tours are offered to look for dolphins, whales, seals, penguins and other fascinating sea dwellers.

Back ashore it may drag you on a hiking tour through one or two of 14 wonderful National Parks. Rock climbing and caving are possible, too. Visit the location and regions of the „Lord of the Rings“ trilogy, no matter whether in a saddle horseback or on a mountain bike.

The centrally on the North Island located and famous volcanic highland is at any time of the year a locale of imposing natural spectacle. Spluttering geysers, sludge volcanoes and vitalising hot springs make this landscape sensational. Why don’t you connect your stay with a side- trip to the fascinating Maori- culture!

If you like to edge a nice glass of wine in between adventure and passion you get your money worth it as well. The numerous wine- growing regions of New Zealand produce wines that are worth the money and are served in exquisite restaurants together with an accordingly rich supply of excellent food. Simply follow the “Food- and Wine Trail“ across the country.

Enjoy your honeymoon depending on your budget and preferences in a high class hotel, on a campsite at an outlying mountain stream, in exclusive lodges or in cosy Bed&Breakfast hostels.

Discover New Zealand for yourself with a camper, motorhome or with a rental car. You just have to be 25 years old (car with 21), have to own a driver’s licence from your home country and finally have to choose a vehicle at one of the everywhere existing car rentals. Rental charges are more reasonable than in Europe and the gas costs only half of the price as in Europe. All this is due to the favourable exchange rate.

On the day of the planned departure do all the visitors of New Zealand need a passport that is at least valid for three more months. If you don’t want to stay for a longer time than three month you don’t need a visa. For additional information about your entry check: New Zealand Embassy.
