Short Story Tahiti/ Bora Bora
The paradise is located right on the other side of the world – here you will find wonderful beaches and crystal clear, turquoise lagoons in front of islands where love is at home.
Tahiti, Bora Bora and the surrounding islands belong to the area that is officially called French Polynesia and pertain to France. The islands are distributed over four million square kilometres in the south- east Pacific. For comparison only, Europe extends over five million square kilometres. The whole land mass of all 118 islands and atolls, however, amounts to only 4000 square kilometres. Because of the big expansion each one the five existing different archipelagos has its own culture and its own climate. However, all are alike in being beautiful and it is always warm.

The people in French Polynesia are mainly of Polynesian origin. But you will still meet a wide range of peoples out of all parts of the world. Many Tahitians have got Chinese, American, Polynesian and French ancestors.
What’s the charmingness about Tahiti or Bora Bora? Almost everybody knows the story about the Bounty from their day of childhood and has memorised the pictures of Tahiti as the embodiment of the paradise for ever. To be earnest, there are no longer natives in reed skirts awaiting you. Civilisation has entered but the turquoise lagoons with thousands and upon thousands of colourful reef fishes, the green peaks of the volcanoes, the deep lush valleys and the white sandy beaches are still there.

The Tahitian culture is a vivid fusion of the old Polynesia and France. That is very obvious by looking at the culinary variety of the traditional Tahitian kitchen and the French Cuisine. But the international kitchen as well has settled in most different price- and quality categories. The music and dancing take a special place in the Polynesian culture. There are the traditional dances to the drums and singing but as well the New School with electric guitars and all that belongs to it. Tahitian music has developed from Polynesian melodies and rhythms, American pop, Jamaican Reggae, French Chanson and the chants of the old missionaries. Further is Polynesia the place- of birth of the tattoo and therefore they are pretty widespread here.
Here is a short introduction into the most important Polynesian islands. Our Tip: book a water plane for yourselves and explore this world from the birds-eye view. The impressions you will collect through it you will never forget for the rest of your life-promise.

Tahiti:
Is mainly called „the queen of the Pacific“. Tahiti is the largest island and the home of gigantic waterfalls that fall off green mountains, marvellous beaches and Papeete, the South Seas mega city.

Moorea:
Often compared to James Michener's mystical island Bali Hai, Moorea is characterised by green volcano peaks that are reflected by calm water in two paradisiacal bays.

Bora Bora:
The main island of Bora Bora is situated like a jewel in the centre of the legendary multicoloured lagoon that is surrounded by small islands within a protecting necklace of corals.

Huahine:
Consisting of two islands that are connected by a small bridge. Huahine boasts with watermelon- and cantaloupe gardens on its small offshore islands at the fringe of the atoll. A wild ado dominates in the many Chinese stores along the coast.

Raiatea - Tahaa:
Only three kilometres apart and surrounded by the same coral reef Raiatea- the second biggest Polynesian island and former centre of the Polynesian culture- and the calm Tahaa, also named Vanilla Island because of its magnificent odour of its flora, are located.
Rangiroa:
Honeymooner who look for a complete solitary location do no longer need to do this because Rangiroa is perfect. A sandbank surrounds the island like a ring. In the dreamlike lagoon it is possible for you to go snorkelling or just relax in a luxury resort.

Manihi:
On the quiet and peaceful Manihi are several black pearl farms and a crystal clear lagoon that is more than five km broad and 35 km long.
