Wedding Tips Barbados
To marry on Barbados is unproblematic. There is no necessary waiting time or an officially required minimum stay. But you should schedule a week because the authorities, too, need their time and the marriage ceremony has to be organised as well. The application for the permit for your marriage hast to be filed by both partners in the bureau of the „Office of Home Affairs“.
The expenses consist of:
Notarial charges & marriage licence = 150, 00 BD$ - ca. 48 €
Fee for the register office = 100, 00 BD$ - ca. 32 €
Fee for the marriage certificate = 25, 00 BD$ - ca. 8 €
The following documents have to be brought along:
- Passport and birth certificate
- As a widow or widower the death certificate of the deceased spouse
- The decree of divorce for the case that one or both partners are divorced
- Should one partner be under 18 years a notarised certified declaration of consent of the parents is required
- In case of a change of name you need the appendant legal declaration
- Certified translation of all documents that are not written in English
